Memory Anchor brings more depth to cemetery visits and student research

Memory Anchor is a veteran-founded software company whose mission is to preserve and share history and culture for our future generations.

One of the company’s recent initiatives included collaboration with the City of Edmonton and No Stone Left Alone to create interactive digital tours of three Edmonton cemeteries, including the stories and photos of 50 Canadian veterans.

The project was focused around three main objectives; driving attention to Edmonton area veteran commemoration sites and spotlight the contributions of veterans, offering a new way for Canadians young and old to explore Canadian veterans’ military history, and sharing and engaging with the local community and especially K-12 students with an educational resource package.

The latter of these three objectives is supported by a robust learning package to bring this in-depth learning into the classroom. The aims of this learning package, and the project overall, are deeply aligned with No Stone Left Alone’s goal to engage young Canadians in a more personal and lasting sense of remembrance for those who serve.

No Stone Left Alone is proud to collaborate with Memory Anchor on this project, and we encourage teachers, students and anyone who wants to dive deeper into the stories of our veterans, to download the Memory Anchor app, and to take a look at the educational resources available.

Remembrance isn’t just a day, and learning about our veterans isn’t a pursuit only to be undertaken in November. We invite you to explore the cemeteries in your community throughout the year, and dive deeper into the stories of those who have served.
